Revise fractions,decimals and percentages
WALT: Revise fractions,decimals and percentages.
Today in maths we were revising fractions, decimals and percentages. We played a game. In the game, we had to match four cards. It was easy to work out because I knew my deci-mat, fractions, percentages and decimals. But it was frustrating because some other people had the card you wanted and you had to throw in some cards. Next I want to learn ratio and proportion.

Snag Golf
Purpose:To evaluate the skills learnt for snag golf.
To share our learning with the world.
Success Criteria: Use past tense.
Able to explain in sequence.
Walt: play long shots in snag golf.
Yesterday was our last day for snag golf. We have been playing snag golf with Hugh (our coach) for four weeks. Hugh taught us how to position ourselves when we putt the ball. If you are right handed, you put your right hand at the bottom of the golf club and your left hand at the top. He gave us tips on playing it like focus on the ball instead of looking at the golf club. Hugh taught us a little riddle while you swing your golf club “tictoc like a clock.” On the golf club there is a target on it so if you hit the ball straight it will go in the direction you want it to go in, if not it will be going in another direction. As we hit the ball we have to bend our elbows to get a good hit. We finally put all our learning together and used it on the field yesterday. Some of us had some good hits and some of us couldn’t get it really high.

Corn Survey
For the last two weeks we have been studying "corn maths." We even did a survey about how we like our corn and we included staff members in our survey.
I used Create A Graph online to draw a line graph. For me it was easy to use Create a Graph online because it does it all for you. I had a few attempts until I made this line graph. I would make a graph manually and online. Next I would like to learn converting fractions into percentages.

Estimation Activities
WALT: Estimation
In maths we were learning about estimation. We were estimating corn. Heather and I were in a group. We were learning to estimate parts of a cob of a sweetcorn like the silk, husk and kernels. In all our estimations we were way below what the real answer was. I found estimation simple because all you need to do is guess. When you do estimation you have to learn how to count and round off numbers. Next I want to learn how to convert fractions to decimals.

Man Vs Wild
Saturday at dawn, David went for a boat ride in the ocean. David has short black curly hair, hazel eyes, a beard, is tall and loves to explore the ocean. So he got his gear and loaded his boat for his adventure. Hooked it up to his car and drove to the ramp.
David was ready and set to go on his adventure. He smelt the salty fresh air and heard the seagulls. He was out in the ocean and he enjoyed the hot summer breeze. Everything was going dandy until he saw something fast went along side the boat. David didn't worry until the boat started to rock like an earthquake. The boat stopped and then “RRRIIIIPP” the crocodile demolished the motor. The crocodile got into the boat but David used his rope and tied the crocodile up. Went back to shore, everyone was shocked with what he came back with. But he told everybody the real story of how the crocodile got tied up.
Few days later……
David made it to the news paper, news and radio he was so popular his nickname was Man Vs Wild. But after what happened in the boat and he died. David doesn’t want to go back out to sea again.
