Structure of a tooth

stuctureoftooth.gif
Structure of a tooth

Enamel:The hard outer layer of the crown. Enamel is the hardest substance in the body.

Dentine:Not as hard as enamel, forms the bulk of the tooth and can be sensitive if the protection of the enamel is lost.

Pulp Soft tissue containing the blood and nerve supply to the tooth. The pulp extends from the crown to the tip of the root.
Nerves and blood supply: Each tooth and periodontal ligament has a nerve supply and the teeth are sensitive to a wide variety of stimuli. The blood supply is necessary to maintain the vitality of the tooth.

Bone: Provides a socket to surround and support the roots of the teeth.

Crown : the top part of the tooth, and the only part you can normally see. The shape of the crown determines the tooth's function. For example, front teeth are sharp and chisel-shaped for cutting, while molars have flat surfaces for grinding.

Root: the part of the tooth that is embedded in bone. The root makes up about two-thirds of the tooth and holds the tooth in place.

Neck:The narrowed part of a tooth between the crown and the root.

Cycle safety

Cycle Safety

Today these instructors called Ruth and James came to teach us about riding safe and how to riding safely and teach us how to check our helmet and our bike also how to be safe on the road.

Firstly James and ruth came in and talked to Mr Ramkolowan then James talked to us about safe on a bike a demonstrated it and you never were the same colour as the road because you will be camouflage and they won't see you so you have to wear bright colours or a vest.

Secondly we went outside and did our height and got our bike and checking the bikes out to see if it they are alright then the bell rang and we had to go but we had to go after morning tea.

When we came back from morning tea we went back and got into groups to do some biking and safety rules about biking on the road we did some activities and some good tips about safety.

Lastly I had fun and learned heaps about biking.

Alyssa tells you how to brush your teeth

1. Everyone needs to brush their teeth twice a day in the morning and in the evening if you don't then you will have rotten teeth. Where you get yellow teeth.

2. When you brush your teeth you should always have a toothbrush because it helps it clean your teeth and gets rid of your dirtiness on your teeth.

Holding floss.jpg

3. Before you start brushing if you want to floss then you can floss but If you don’t know then you need to know because flossing helps your teeth. This is a picture of how to hold it but make sure you press the floss to hard or your gum will bleed.

4.After you finishing flossing you brush your teeth but to brush your teeth you will need to get a toothbrush and some toothpaste and rinse it under the tap of cold water to make the toothpaste to go into your mouth.

When you brush your teeth everyday and night then you will have white shiny teeth and be a healthy child
