Fizzing and Foaming

Fizzing and foaming

WALT:Write a science report

My class and I are investigating reactions between mentos (mint lollies) & diet coke (fizzy drink.) Because we want to know what happens when you mix mentos (mint lollies) & diet coke (fizzy drink). But knew that it was going to fizz up , we just wanted to know why it fizzes up.

We had to put a paper over the glass of diet coke so that the mentos doesn't drop so quickly. We also had to make a paper tube so we can put the mentos through the tube and drop i gently into the glass. As soon as we dropped the mentos into the diet coke it reacted violently and I could see the fizz and foam coming out of the glass.

EXPLANATION

Mentos has pores little holes , when the mentos mixes with the diet coke it becomes a new substances. When the gases mix it forms bubbles and it starts to fizz. The bubbles try to escape and erupt.

Dear Mum

Hi mum how are you ? I miss you so much I wish I can come back. Thankyou for the food you sent me they were yummy as. Hope you are okay and that everything is okay while I have been gone. Also I don’t know when I’ll be able to come back home but I hope it’s soon.

The weather has been so good but the captain said that there might be a storm tonight but I hope not because then everything will be wet and we will be wet because we don’t have shelter or anything we just sleep under the sky and the stars with our blankets and backpacks. Also our food would get wet and then it will be yuck to eat.

Also one of my friends died (Tom.) We also had a funeral for her yesterday. I was so sad all of her friends came and we were crying and we told some speeches , but we couldn’t take long because we would've got killed so it was pretty short. But it’s alright because she is in a better place now.

Also one last thing I want to tell you is that the food here is disgusting they aren't even fresh because when I want to eat there is always flies and bugs on it YUCK. That’s why I like it when you send me food and stuff. Thank-you.

That’s what i've been up to past these weeks. Once again hope your doing okay and hope I can see you soon love you take care bye , Please write back as soon as you can xxxx miss you hope I can come home soon and the war is almost finished.

From you loving daughter
Alyssa

WALT: Create a garden with a pool using square units

Today in maths , my class (room 11) created a garden using square units. We did this because to understand the concept of area. This was easy to do because our teacher told us how many units it was for each part (except for the grass.) I thought this was a fun activity. Also, now I know why people don't have pools because they are too expensive.

FullSizeRender.jpgWALT: Commemorate Anzac day

Yesterday after lunch Room 7 to 12 went to the front of the school and planted the cross. But before we started Wesley told room 7 , 8 , 9 and 10 what we were doing and why we were doing it. Then room 11 and 12 planted our crosses and then Miss Lamus did a poem and then we went back to class.
