St Patrick's

17 March 2015

Walt:Explain the legends of St Patrick.

In Britain there was a man named Maewyn Succat who was born in 387 AD. His parents names were Calphurnius and Conchessa. Also later in life Pope Celestine gave Maewyn a new name and that was St Patrick. He didn’t like the attitude of british towards Irish. Also St Patrick was kidnapped when he was sixteen years old by Pagan Irish

When he got kidnapped as a slave. Every night in his dreams he saw god and that god told him to escape and have his freedom. When he was a teen he spent his teen years as a shepherd.

When he was travelling it took him 28 years to get where he wanted to go to. Then he went to his family and his home. Also he wanted to be a priest. St Patricks died at soul downtime Ireland 17 March 461 AD at age of 76.

Also St Patricks use to be blue but then green and in British if you don’t wear green you get pinched. A shamrock is a clover and and a 3 leaf clover is for St patrick’s and a 4 clover is for good luck.

Kia ora Alyssa, I really like your writing, and I like how you have told us how he got the name st. Patrick that was really interesting. Do you know why you can't find a 4 leafed clover?
